GERMANY!!

Oh my goodness! Okay, I know that I haven't blogged in a little while. Please don't hate me, my two followers :)

I should first say, that God has been good to me. Especially in my marriage. He has given us much grace. It's amazing that when you seek Him, He will answer. Maybe not the way that we desire all the time, but He does know best. Sometimes it's just hard for me to trust Him, though I have seen in SO many ways how He has been SO gracious to me.

These past couple of Sundays, our pastor has so far talked about Doctrine and this past Sunday, Prayer. Oh my goodness, I have not been that connective to a message like that in awhile! Don't read me wrong. I think our Pastor is one of the most humble and best teachers that I have sat under in awhile. But this past Sunday, God opened up my brain and my heart and helped me to listen. I wish that I could write down all that was spoken...maybe later.

What I want to write about quickly (since I am at work) is about GERMANY! So my manager has sent some of us a couple of e-mails that request our assitance as temps to other offices. We haven't been able to do any because we have been "so busy".  I did put in for New York after talking to my husband. Not knowing if she sent the message or not, oh well. No matter...just yesterday my co-worker told me of another message that came out with Germany on the list!

So while my husband and I were in bed, I had asked him what he thought about Germany, he said, "well maybe we can make a trip and go to Poland (his family's home of origin, on his dad's side)". Now that would be a honeymoon of a lifetime! This trip would be for two weeks. Granted I would be working most of the day but then we have the nights, oh the nights in another country!

My manager came to my desk said that we are going to be put in for the dates requested! Amazing! My boss jumped on that one. We have kind of talked about the dates that we would like to go, so after talking to my husband tonight and the admin meeting tomorrow, we'll see what the future holds.

So with hope and a prayer,

I remain yours, my interested readers.

Blogs and date nights!

I have to say that I truly ENJOY reading peoples blogs, some more than others (like the ones that keep a steady flow of entries). That being said, I know I'm not one to keep a steady flow of entries...bad girl. I hope to at least have two entries a week.

Here's to hoping!

Last night, my husband (here, my friend Maria would say, "WHO?" Then I would say, "My husband!" And then we would start laughing. ). Anyways, after coming home from work, just to get ready to leave to go grocery shopping with Maria, my HUSBAND looked at me and asked, "When are we meeting with Pastor Tom?" (Our marriage counselor/pastor) It's our 3 month check up! Yay! And I said, "This Friday." He said, "Oh, I guess we can't go on a date." I was like are you kidding me, we could go afterwards, it's only an hour. He slyly smiled and said, we could go out on Saturday.

It's so funny because I had just been reading earlier that day on how we as wives should surprise our husbands every now and then with a surprise date. And here my husband is surprising me!

Oh, I have such a thoughtful husband and I CAN'T WAIT to go out on our date! I have an outfit in mind already ;-)

And with that, I want to encourage you husbands and wives to continue dating each other. A date does not have to be expensive or extravagent! But it is still needed even after you are married even if it does take a little bit of creativity sometimes. But if you are like some of us, just something as thoughtful as taking your wife to Sunset Cliffs to hear the ocean or taking your husband to an antique car showroom will show that you love them.

Here's to blogs and date nights! Cheers!

One of our many dates, pre-engagements :) This was taken at a cute little Italian restaurant in North Park.

Loving MY enemies

It's so hard to do in myself! Ack! Some people here at work get on my nerves. I mean what did I do to you? I know that it makes you feel better just to gossip about others so that you feel better about yourself. I know, I've been there.

How can I love you? Jesus says to, but how can I?

It is much easier to love those that I am friends with and that support me and that I can trust. MUCH easier!

But Jesus asks me to love you.

Well, I have one of two choices: Be bitter and spiteful back, smile in your face and stab you in the back or be obedient and cheerful, smile in your face and in my heart and love like Jesus says.

He'll help me!

HOW ARE YOU FEELING THESE DAYS?

Somber Tuesday

This morning, like most work mornings, my husband was up at 4 am. He popped up into a sitting on the edge position, groaned a little bit, then got up. He turned on his office light, then the hallway light. You could here the dog thumping her golden furred tail on the floor. She was happy to hear movement!

In the meantime, I wanted to squeeze in a little bit more ZZZs, so I turned over and tried to shut the light out so I could sleep. Back into weird dream land I went. That usually happens when I'm awake and then go back to sleep, I have the weirdest dreams.

About 20 minutes later, my husband is sitting on the edge again but this time fixing the bottom part of his pants, the way that Navy men do. I look at his back wondering if I should get up and scratch it just because. But my body "threatens" me, so I stay in a semi-still position except the the lip closed smile I gave him as he approached the bed.

He goes into the kitchen and then I was the one to jump out of bed, take a look at my smooshed afro, decide to put on a headscarf and head toward the kitchen, after I go into the guest/sewing room and put on a robe.

The next thirty minutes consists of my husband, eating breakfast, me asking a few questions, him answering, me going to the futon eventually to sit under his furry Spiderman blanket and wait. More doggie tail thumps, me wishing my husband would come and sit by me and talk. He goes to shave and I pray that God would help me with my attitude, help me to be the wife he called me to be. Husband comes out with a fresh shaven face, comes over and looks me in the eyes and kisses me. Then I'm left to wonder why I'm irritated at him and pray again, along with mentally flogging myself. WHY?

He kisses me and then we both head toward the garage door and wish each other "have a good day at work". I stand by the garage door to the kitchen and wait for his car to be out of sight. I close the window blinds and then head over to the futon again to talk to the Lord some more and feel sorry for my bad attitude. I ask God to please teach me, I eventually fall back asleep.

I semi-hurriedly get ready for work, shove the dog into the garage, cause I'm going to be late. Poor baby! I pray over our house and run down the street to the trolley, forgetting my phone.

I get to work, I call Adam, his phone is off. Boo!

I do some work and the time ticks away! Lunchtime! Really, SHOPPING TIME! I go to Bath and Body Works to enjoy their excellent sales and think, "Would Adam like this scent?" After indulging myself with some new fragrances, thanks to Bryan and Lily, I walked briskly back to the office. But not without a Green Peace (or whatever he was), ask, "Would you like to help save a dolphin?" To myself I said, "You wanna help me save a baby?" As I hurriedly walked past him, he said, "Happy New Year! I hope your hair is not too tight." At least that what I thought I heard...pitiful. Anyways!

I got back to the office, sprayed myself with a bit of fragrance ready to start work again and have some left over Taco Lasagna my Baby made. I heated it up, sat down, picked up the phone and dialed. HARK it's ringing, yay! I waited.

On the other line, it sounded like 1) He had been crying or 2) He was upset. It was the first. He just got news from Uncle Gordon that his grandfather had just passed away. "Oh no, Baby, I'm so sorry!"  It's okay. "I'm so sorry Baby!" I didn't know what to say. I've never met his grandfather, thanks to his grandmother..another story thats been told way too many times.

I call him back, "Do you want me to come home?" No, it's okay, I'll see you later. "Okay Baby."

I started to think, I thought ALOT! I decided, I'm leaving work early so that I can be with  him. So much emotion is going on right now in the family right now, more than just about death. There needs to be a healing! I'm so glad for my dad, he prayed with me and asked for Adam's number to call him. I called my MIL and she was beside herself.

Father God, please help us on this Somber Tuesday.
