RNC and Appendices

Do I have your attention? Well, I'm glad you're reading anyway. Currently, I am in the waiting room waiting for my husband to come out of surgery. Yes, it was unexpected.

After working for these past three weeks in conjunction the RNC through my job, I suggested to my baby that we go to a nice dinner at this local steakhouse that sounded phenomenal. And I realized at the last minute that it was out 10 month anniversary on Wednesday! Even better!

Well, as we were getting ready, he complained of not feeling too good, he thought it might have been the heat, walking around in the humidity and becoming dehydrated. I agreed. So he drank some water.

And we were off to dinner! I was excited! We got to our destination and it was interesting to say the least. I wouldn't know how to explain it except that the entrance/lobby was a mix between Disneyland's Haunted House and the Pirates of Caribbean.

While there he started to feel worst but we went through dinner but skipped touring the delightful dessert floor. That's okay...

We got back to the hotel and went through thinking it was gas to thinking it was food poisoning to thinking it was his appendix.

The next morning we slept in because it was a fitful night and we could because I didn't have to go to work. It was also the first day of our honeymoon. (We delayed our honeymoon due to the Navy and Adam having to go out to see for a couple of weeks after we got married.)

Long story short of it, as we made our way down to Miami, the pain just got worst, so finally he agreed to go to the hospital. 24 hours later, he is in surgery and I'm in the lobby waiting to hear about his status.

He said earlier, why is it that when we try to have our honeymoon, something always gets in the way. I don't understand it either but I'm sure God has a plan. And as my dad pointed out, what a better way to chill out, together and in Miami. Just rest! True, true dad.

On a side note, the RNC was an experience. And a surprise that we got to go! It was so last minute. But I'm glad I went though I wish I had more comfortable shoes on.

And to end this, ladies, hug your hubbies tight today. Men, hug and kiss your wives today.

Enough said!

Rain, lightning, and hurricanes, oh my!

Being from S.D., I'm use to the sunshine, so when rain comes it's kind of depressing and I just want to be on a coach curled up, reading a book. But being in another place,  it makes me feel different about the rain. I actually love it! Maybe it's the lightning and the sound of thunder. That sound always makes me think that maybe God is having a night of Cosmic bowling.

Well in Florida, with the wind, the rain, the lightning, and the thunder, there comes hurricanes. And this time this one's name is Isaac. As usual, the news loves to capitalize on weather drama. But this time I am listening and watching! But mind you, not like a mad woman but as an interested and informed woman.

I've been in several earthquakes but never a hurricane.

My hope is that my husband will get here safely, so that if it does happen we can ride out this storm with together.

I love that man!

Fabulous!

Yes, my friends, we are back up and running! For a week or so, I have been trying to get into my account and didn't have the info that I needed so I couldn't log in.

Oh how I have missed you!

I am now in Florida and it has been HOTfabulous! Along with Stormfabulous! But because I don't have this kind of weather back home in Sunny SD, I am enjoying it (except for the humidity).

I have always wanted to work this event in some form or capacity! My prayers were answered (years later--Lesson here--God always has a plan!)

I have met some fabulous ladies! I was kind of afraid at first because as some of you may know, that working in a room full of women can sometimes turn into a nightmare. But I believe that prayer, maturity, and laughter helps to quench the fiery gossip and attitudes that could abound.

The time here seems to be going so fast, it's unbelievable!  I don't know if it's the time difference or if it's just that I'm in a new place for the time being. I feel like I'm on a work vacation---WORK and PLAY. Can't get any better than that.

On that note, I-CAN'T-WAIT until my hubby gets here! Yes, we talk everyday on the phone and we have skyped at least two times but it's not the same. I can't wait to touch him, kiss him, (fill in the blank), smell him...I can't wait!

Well, I better get back to busywork!

Until next time, keep smiling, keep praying, loving, and trusting!
