You cannot have space in my head

No, I'm not crazy. But with these thoughts swirling around my head like birds that are looking for a place to perch, I thought I would shoot them down onto this paper. Graphic, I know.

I don't know about you, but I tend to have thin skin when it comes to people. The bottom line is, I want to be liked, not by everybody but just by those I'm around, like those I have to work with every.single.day. It's kind of sad.

It's sad, because when I think about it, I have a mother and dad who loves me, sisters who tolerate love me and I also tolerate one love both of them, friends who I can count on one hand, maybe two who are a part of my life, a husband who loves me, and most of all a Father in heaven who cares for me.

So why do I care so much what people, well particularly, the mean girls do or say to me?

I don't know. But I do know that I'm not innocent either. So why do I care? And what can I do to thicken up the top layer of skin, so that I don't care what they say or do to me but still love them like Christ loves them.

For one, I'm not with God's help gonna let them get under my skin or let them have space in my head.

I dream of Paris...

So tell me, what place would you like to visit, all expense paid? Africa? Europe? Which part? Canada?

Well, so far I have been blessed and fortunate to visit a couple of countries, one that I have always wanted to visit.

It was such an experience to go and visit my friends in Uganda. If it wasn't for their need and my want, I don't think that I would have went. They needed for a friend to come with a few items that were purchased from the States to take to them. There were at least one or two other people they asked before me. And when they did, I thought I was dreaming but it didn't stop there. When my manager approved of my leave, I was still dreaming because I requested leave less than a week before I was to leave on that words-can't-describe trip.

And I was off for a trip of a lifetime, not to only visit some pretty great friends but to see animals that you would only see locked up in a cage (I actually walked by a Bamboon that was sitting on a tree stump, scaaaary!), take a ride down roads with enough pot holes to jiggle your brain from your skull, hang out with some pretty cute and needy orphan children and their caretakers, learn to adjust to African time, listen to Turkeys gobble by my window as I'm trying to sleep, drive around in the African heat, learn their currency, look and being careful not to stare at people that almost look like me, etc. I want.to.go.back!

Now, my dream is to go to one of the most said romantic places ever. Okay, I can think of a few others that would be just as romantic. But Paris, oh how I would love to visit thee!

This year has been quite good to me when it comes to traveling with my job. Though I haven't been to a lot of places this year but they have been open to the thought of us traveling a little bit more because we are now "caught up" with our work. They can also see that we are responsible and can take care of things when need be. So yay!

The opportunity for Paris has come up yet again and AFTER I talked it over with my husband, he said to go for it. I said, "Are  you sure?" He said, "I have gotten to experience a lot of the world and you haven't. It would be a good opportunity. You should go." "But I want you to go with me." "But I may have a job by then. I mean, I might not but if I do, I think you should go. I mean you could put in for Buffalo and I could come for a few days." Long conversation short: "Okay, well, I'll put in for both of them. Paris being my first choice." "I think that's good."

Even though it would be with the job, it would be paid for. What a dream :)

So now for the wait.........

What country do dream of visiting?

At the time you are unable to conceive...

....get another dog.

I tried to find a picture of the dog that we are thinking of getting. Maybe you can find it. It will be a Cocker Spaniel/Pit Bull mutt, I mean mix. Supposedly the Pit Bull is not pure bred, that's why I used mutt. And in case you're wondering why I don't have a picture, it's because we're waiting for them from my husband's aunt who happens to breed them. That my friend, is an interesting mix!

Last night, it just popped into my husband's head to call his dad for his aunt's number. I mean we kind of talked about it before about getting another dog either for Nala (our fur baby. Sorry for those who hate that term..I did too for awhile and then Nala and I became great friends and I love her!) or for when Nala passes. I hate to think that way but she has already had two surgeries and she is getting old, like we all are...poor baby.

Though I'm kind of excited at the thought of getting another fur baby but I have my hesitations too. When Adam and I started dating, Nala had already been trained and she was as chill as I like dogs to be. She barks when she needs to (sometime not, but she's not a yapper), she doesn't jump and slobber all over you (she just gives you a sniffing over), she loves to go for walks, and she loves to sleep. Perfect!

My hesitation is that we will have to train the dog but my husband says that our local Petco does training. Nala is my first pet, so I'm kind of spoiled.

Well, this should make for another fun adventure! I mean it!

You know how some couples thought they would never have children of their own, so they start the process of adoption or foster care and *BAM* they're pregnant! I wonder why that happens?

Wouldn't it be just like our story, "Well, we were in the process of adopting our first dog and we got pregnant!"

Hey, I gotta have some sort of humor. If I don't laugh, I'll cry. I would rather laugh!

...making: nothing currently, but dreaming of finishing my beautiful African cross stitch (beautiful because it contains purples, oranges, yellows, gold colors...I love colors!)

...dreaming of: having a baby..I'm happy for my friends that are having another baby. Can I have one? or two? or three? or four to make it even? Thank You Lord. Amen.

...reading: several different books regarding marriage and looking forward to reading The Help

...thinking about: what how I'm looking forward to this weekend and how I'm going to stuff all the good, fun things together and yet get some rest..hmmmm and cuddling with my husband.

I just saw this "currently list" idea on the blog Max & Kaylee and I thought what a great blog entry.

There are so many things that I want to write about but it's like where do I start? So I'll leave you with this.

Here's to a wonderful weekend!
