The Food Truck

You've seen them in the movies, you've probably seen then around town. The Food Truck! You might have a name for them. Around this part of town, before they became popular, they were affectionately known as Roach Coaches.

Every morning, they would visit the base where my husband worked. He would grab a breakfast burrito or Pancet or Spam and eggs. Yeah, I know...Spam and eggs. They were there when he came back from his deployment and we were waiting for him to get off the ship. I really wanted to go and get some of their greasy delectables, because I was.so.hungry. But I didn't want to lose my "prime" space to some other excited family member.

Today, my co-worker was yapping excitedly that the food trucks are going to be right around the corner from where we work. I guess she's a foodie but you wouldn't know by looking at her (okay, I'm sorry for the wrong perception there). Moving on.

So today was the big day for the first line of food trucks to visit our working neighborhood!

The closed off part of the street (during a work day) to have them there. This is serious!

Crepes, burgers, pastrami sandwhiches, street tacos, it was there! And it smelled so good!

People were lined up to get their yummy goodies. I just took in the sight because I wasn't ready or prepared to partake. I kind of wondered how much it would cost. My co-workers went to get Crepes and they told me the cost. Not bad at least to try it a couple of times. Then after eating they told me how it was. Meh, not good enough to go back. Hmm, that's too bad.

One night after having dinner, my husband brought up the idea of us starting our own business with a food truck. He likes my cooking enough to suggest I cook the dishes that I make. How sweet of him! You bet he gets a lot of kisses, compliments or not. But I don't know about having a business and all. I don't think I could handle it. Though it sounds fun, it even sounds romantic.

On that note, I'm looking forward to tasting some delicious food from these trucks one of these Wednesdays.

Wow, Food Trucks on Wednesdays and Farmer Markets on Thursday! Sounds like a winner to me.
